Representing Ward 6 on the Jackson Public School Board
Lee’s Story
Lee grew up in a household of people who were dedicated to service. His family has lived in Ward 6 for most of his life. His parents are hardworking people who believe that if you can help others, you should. He saw how his parents not only worked every day but served in their church, volunteered at places like The Stewpot and mentored young people. These values shaped how Lee sees the world & what he pursued in life. This drove him to study political science at Hinds Community College and completing his bachelor’s in leadership (with a focus on public policy) & a master’s in organizational leadership at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Since returning to Jackson, Lee worked for Jackson Leadership Foundation, setting up service projects for hundreds of volunteers throughout the Jackson Metro area. He got involved in the Association of South Jackson neighborhoods and was a member of the inaugural class of the Change Collective (Civic Nation/Obama Foundation). Motivated to serve his community, Lee ran for city council in the 2025 municipal elections. Even though he fell short in the primaries, Lee left a lasting impact on the race through his door-knocking campaign and grassroots energy.
Since that campaign, Lee has stayed engaged in service to his community. He is the President of the Mississippi Urban League’s Young Professionals and the first to serve a full term. In the winter of 2025, he was appointed to the Jackson Public Schools Board of Trustees, making him the youngest person in history to serve in this role. He continues his work as an academic counselor at Get2College/Woodward Hines Education Foundation, advising students & families preparing for college & exploring career pathways. Lee is married to his amazing wife, Amanda & serves at his local church, CityHeart Church. They have a black Labrador named Luna and are expecting their first child this winter.

Will engage in sharing information (through all medians) related to the administration’s decisions, listen to constituents & community leaders. Work to be a bridge between JPS & Ward 6
Community Collaboration
While serving in this role on the School Board, Lee has committed himself to working with District Leadership, school leaders, elected officials, and community members to improve Ward 6’s educational outcomes.
Advocating for Investment
Work with the JPS and other leaders to seek long-term youth & community investment in Ward 6
